AERIAL MAPPING PROCESS
Aerial Mapping is the digital mapping processing system that uses the high-resolution digital cameras and automatic processing technology which enables the image capturing and processing 3-4 times faster than conventional cameras and image processing tool. The modern digital technology that provides high precision, accuracy, the faster result for a wide range of aerial applications.

In conventional mapping process takes a lot of time for capturing the data acquisition and risk of environment whereas using the drone for digital mapping process you can avoid those inconsistencies. Aerial mapping process includes the following steps.

Skyfi Labs Projects
1. Capturing the data.

2. processing the data.

3. Analyze.

4. Share processed data.

Project Description:

  1. DRONE:Drones are flying robots fitted with the high-resolution cameras where it can able to take the picture automatically. The picture that is taken by drone has the GPS coordinate which helps you to find the location of the place. The complete data acquisition is done by the drone only. The drone can be a multicopter or fixed wing. Drone reduces the risk of the environment and also faster than the conventional data acquisition.
  2. PROCESSING TOOL:It provides you to get the data of the place where you took the picture. Also, It gives you the data in terms of algorithms, visualization, algorithms and image processing. In market different types of tools available. The followings are the few most commonly used processing tool
    1. Pix4D
    2. DroneDeploy
These applications are not only used for processing the picture also it helps you to fly the drone autonomously for acquiring the data. It can be used by both mobiles as well as the computer. By using this tool you can analyze your data such as the area, volume, distance, temperature, a status of plants, weather conditions.

Project Implementation:

  1. First you need to capture the picture that you want to map that is called data acquisition. For that you need to do the flight plan using the mapping tool. That tool can be downloaded from the internet for free. While planning you should consider flying time of the drone when the battery gets over it should come to original position or else drone will end up with the crash due to the low battery.Once everything is done you can for the data acquisition. Now the drone will automatically will capture the picture according to the flight plan y that you have set. Once the photo capturing is done, upload the datas in to the any one of the processing tool. Now the processing tool will begin to the join all the picture in to the single picture.Once this process is done you will get single picture with all required details which will help us to analyze the data such as area, volume, distance, temperature, a status of plants, weather conditions. More pictures will take more time for processing the data.

PURPOSE OF DIGITAL MAPPING:

  1. The main purpose of digital mapping is considered to be the creation of digital cartographic data for various geographical information systems. In this regard, a digital data set obtained through digital mapping should meet the following requirements.Assurance of true position data without any replacement or deletion corner from the limitation of map drawing capability.Data flexibility enables to meet various user objectives. The simplicity of data format to assure the applicability to any user system.Completeness as the general cartographic information set.
