Application for Home Security

The advancement of technology has made things simpler and easier for us. Manual systems are being replaced by the automatic systems, there are several machine-controlled systems have been developed which are being used to detect any intrusion or commit to intrude within the house of the owner through various methods one famous method is via Mobile handsets.

Mobile handsets nowadays are primarily hand-held computers which are integrated with mobile radio communication capabilities, with increasing usage of GSM, network services area unit expanded on the far side to include various custom-made applications, machine automation and most widely popular machine to machine communication. Home automation and security have become more and more distinguished options on mobile devices. we are able to develop a security system that interfaces with Associate in Nursing golem mobile system device. The mobile device and security system communicate via Bluetooth, wi-fi, NFC as a result of a short-range-only communications system was desired by golem mobile. The mobile applications are often loaded onto any compatible device, and once it loaded, interface with the protection system. Commands to lock, unlock, or check the standing of the door to that the protection system is inserted and are often sent quickly from the mobile device via a straightforward, simple to use user interface. On interruption intrusion, the GSM modem will send a message to the ANDROID application installed in the mobile device. If the user fails to respond in the defined time period, the application will send a default message to the remote device, subsequently triggering the buzzer.

Project Requirements:

  1. A switch that will be hooked up to the door to detect intrusion which will be connected to an 8051 microcontroller.
  2. A GSM module for operation and give an update to the user about the intrusions and a buzzer installed in the home to alert other if an intrusion takes place.
  3. ADK kit will be necessary that can be attached to your cell phone.
  4. We will require Arduino microcontroller with ATmega2560 it has a USB host interface to connect Android phones to them so we will be requiring the Arduino Mega ADK which is derivative of Arduino Mega 2560.
  5. MAX232 IC built in with the GSM modem will be required to operate the system the way we want.

Project Implementation:

The way this project will work is quite simple and so the first step will be to make a flowchart of the process to understand the flow of commands in the system based on which the system will be designed. So the working is actually quite simple when we think about it when the switch is triggered if interruption in detected it sends an update to 8051 microcontroller from which the 8051 signals the GSM modem to send the SMS to the user now the GSM modem Sends the SMS to the Android phone of the user now we have to give a delay time for 1 minute saying after receiving if the user replies in 5 minutes and will update the 8051 to either play the buzzer or not play the buzzer and if user doesn’t send the message android itself will send the SMS and sends a signal to 8051 to play the buzzer. The user if sees later it can override the command of play buzzer sent by Android.

Software requirements:

  1. Arduino IDE:software used for dumping firmware that was created for the Arduino Board.
