Aerodynamics And Aeroelastic Analysis Of Selected UAV Model

Outcome: Result of the analysis could be utilized to further improve the design and performance. Description: The purpose of this study is to determine the different aerodynamic and aeroelastic characteristics of the given UAV model. Aerodynamics is the study of how air interacts with moving bodies and it’s primarily concerned with the forces are caused by air passing over and around solid bodies. Aero elasticity is a study the interactions between the inertia, elastic, and aerodynamic forces that occur when an elastic body is exposed to a fluid flow of the flexible structures.
The result of the analysis could be utilized to further improve the aerodynamics of the exiting design and performances. In this project was carried out the pressure, velocity distribution and deformation of the given UAV model.
Fluid structure coupling studies were the fluid interaction part is solved using ANSYS CFX. A modal analysis study was also carried out and the natural frequencies and mode shape of the UAV model were determined.
