In order to enhance infrastructure projects, large civil engineering projects are executed in India. Due to space constraints and time limits infrastructure facilities have to often build on site where the soil conditions are not ideal. This is where the geotechnical engineer plays a critical role in improving the soil conditions. The method of ground improvement adopted depends upon the nature of strata and the purpose of improvement. Under different improvement techniques, ground improvement using stone columns offers a proven and economical solution. In this project, you are going to make a stone column with different composition to know which composition gives more strength to the soil.

A Hybrid rocket is the combination of solid and liquid propellant. In most common cases solid-state fuel is used and the oxidizer used is in the liquid or gaseous state. The Hybrid rocket is a kind of safe propulsion and low cost when compared to the solid and liquid propellant rockets. The solid propellant and liquid or gaseous oxidizer are stored separately. The oxidizer is passed over the solid fuel through the injector and then combustion takes place and the hot gases exhausted through the nozzle.

In today’s world, the search for new materials with innovative mechanical properties and sustainability is important. In spite of many advantages, natural fibers have some disadvantages like low thermal resistance, high moisture absorption, etc.

Design of landing gear linkage by using composite material

The landing gear is a structure, which supports the aircraft in the ground. A major part of aircrafts load is transferred to the landing gear during take-off and landing. These loads are then transferred to the airframe through landing gear beams. Wheels of the landing gear are added as per the size of the aircraft. The position of the landing gear depends on the design, type, and load of the aircraft. Some landing gear is mounted on wing and some under the fuselage.

In this project, we are going to create and analyze a 2D and 3D model of lug attachments in the landing gear.

5. Fabrication and testing of light weight composites for UAV

Fabrication and testing of light weight composites for UAV

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a pilot on board.

In this project, our main objective is to fabricate a composite material combining depron, glass fiber, and balsawood strips to form three different combinations of composite material.
