Scilab Workshop

Have you ever felt about running away from engineering with the fear of solving the complex mathematical problems? What you didn't know was that there are software available to get the job done. All you have to do is learn them and tackle the problems in a smart way!

Scilab is an open source computational software used for writing use defined subroutines for solving complex mathematical problems. This workshop will help participants develop good understanding of computational software and have good hands on experience on how to solve different engineering problems using the software. The main focus of the course is on imparting the importance of using such tools and as well making the participants familiar with industry grade problems and solutions in engineering.

Workshop Structure

1. Theory of Scilab - Get familiar with

   • Different Programming Languages available at disposal
   • What is Scilab
   • Usage of Scilab in industry
   • Different libraries available in Scilab
   • Syntax in Scilab
   • Developing and compiling a sub-routine
   • Limitations of using Scilab
   • Common errors while using Scilab

2. Practical Session - Gain hands-on experience by

   • Developing simple sub-routines and compiling them
   • Using in built libraries to solve common engineering problems
   • Exploring different methods of visualizing the outcome (graphs, etc)
   • Solving industry related engineering problems and devising solutions

3. Brainstorming session - Solve an assigned problem covering the entire topics on your own at the venue to assess your learning.

Participants have access to an exclusive online portal to:

• View status of registered and attended workshops
• View study material for workshops
• Write online exams and receive separate certificates with scores. These certificates with scores will provide students an opportunity to show their learning in job interviews.
