Why it is important to refer IEEE project topics?

IEEE projects list is one of the important tools that can help you select a good automation based project topic.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), is the world’s largest technical professional society dedicated to research about the advancing technologies and innovations happening across the globe. The society is designed to help professionals in the field of electric, electronic and computing fields.

By referring the IEEE Electrical Engineering (EEE) projects list, you can get a pretty good idea about the trending technological topics, advanced implementation methodologies, and processes. From them, you can shortlist a list of topics which suits your requirement and plan accordingly along with your team members.

Now let us understand what automation is and how it impacts the future of consumer devices.

What is an Automation Project?

Automation Project

Automation is derived from the word “automatic”, and as the name suggests it is the technique of making a device, a process, or a system operate automatically. Automation is a technology through which a procedure is executed with minimum human involvement. And any project that involves the concepts and applications of this discipline can be called an Automation Project.

Automation projects also include the concept of IoT. The Internet of Things or IoT is a network or ecosystem of interrelated ‘things’ that interact and exchange data amongst one another. The ‘thing’ may refer to computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects and even people. Yes, you read that right. Even people can be part of IoT. A person connected to a heart monitor or life support is a real-life example. It enables devices to interact among one another, share data and give output without manual intervention.

What are some examples of Automation?

Thermostat – A programmable thermostat is a great example of automation. The device is based on a machine learning algorithm i.e., it learns your family’s routines and will automatically adjust the temperature based on when you’re home or away, awake or asleep. It makes the house more efficient and helps save money on heating and cooling bills and even conserve energy. It is electronic, programmable, and self-learning Wi-Fi-enabled thermostat.

Coffee Makers – All the coffee lovers know how their day doesn’t start without a cup of coffee. So coffeemaker companies responded programmable coffeemakers. One can set the time for the coffee to start brewing, so you can get up from the bed to a hot cup of coffee.

Bill Pay – This is a great addition to banks, credit cards, utility companies and more. Using this automatic bill pay, late payments will now become a thing of the past.

Why should you choose an Automation project topic?

Automation is necessary and advanced technologies related to it are being adapted by many companies. Automation is one of the latest trending technologies in many fields especially in industries like manufacturing, control systems, mining, etc. The companies that can adapt, innovate and utilize global resources will generate significant growth and success. Automation will soon become a necessity for all these industries.

Many fields like robotics, mechatronics, control systems, electronics, wireless, laser technology, automotive motors are dependent on Automation. And therefore, learning more about this topic is very necessary for good job placement in the future.

And what better way to gain knowledge than building projects based on it?

Building projects helps you burst the bubble of theoretical knowledge and introduces you to the practical world. Not only that, you come out of your comfort zone and it will help you push your boundaries. It will broaden your knowledge in tenfold as compared to reading a paper online.

Important points to be noted while building an Automation project:

Important points to be noted

Before jumping into making projects, you should have a clear idea of exactly what you're building. Do thorough research before starting to build the project. This will save you a lot of time and will help to avoid complications later.

Secondly, make sure you have proper guidance before buying a kit, especially if you’re new to building projects. It stops you from making errors like short-circuiting the boards or damaging the modules. It will also significantly reduce the cost of building the projects.

One of the most important things you should be careful about is the price of the hardware used in your project. It may vary from shop to shop. It is crucial to find the right store that is not only cost effective but also delivers quality products. Initially, you can search online regarding the price of the components than going physically to shops to avoid any discrepancies. Always resort to reliable firms who have a strong command on this domain.

For instance, the kits that are sent from Skyfi Labs are well tested and approved for quality project building. Buying such kits will not only save money for you but also help you to build projects without losing time.
