But due to external disturbances in the train line, the train sometimes looses contact with the pantograph causing arcing phenomenon to occur

This arc which is produced due loose contact, creates harmonics in the electric over head line and degrades the power quality

To overcome the loose contact and arc phenomenon,to improve the power quality by reducing the current fluctuations, to optimize it, magnetic components are used to improve the contact between pantograph and over head train line

Basically, artificial neural network are used. These are composed of neurons or processing units. Artificial neuron is the basic unit of Neural network.

There are basically three layered network, input layer, hidden layer and output layer.

A miniature prototype is used resembling the motion and conductive behaviour of the over head train line and pantograph

In this experiment, a ferric disk connected with a motor is used. A train line is welded around the ferrik disc and it is powered electric graphite rod

Relative motion between the ferric disk and the graphite rod gives the same behaviour as pantograpgh and over head train line.

Neodymium magnet is placed above the graphite rod to attract the welded ferric disk line.

Contact loss frequency is reduced, current fluctuations are reduced, decreased collector head current loss, stability of the power supply system is increased
