IoT based theft detection using Raspberry Pi
Here we propose IOT based theft detection project using Raspberry Pi where we use image processing on live video to detect theft using motion and also highlight the area where motion occurred. This system secures offices/homes from theft by instantly detecting theft as well as allowing the user to view the theft details thereby highlighting the theft details and saving the video in a USB drive. In this system, we use a camera along with raspberry pi along with a circuit with LCD display IR for night vision and USB drive for storage. The system is powered y a 12V power supply. As soon as camera motion is detected in camera footage the system uses image processing to detect an exact area of motion occurrence and highlights it accordingly. The system now transmits the images of the occurrence over IOT to be viewed by the user online. We here use IOT Gecko to develop the online system. Also, it stores the footage on a USB drive for further reference. The user can now decode the data sent online using IOT Gecko IOT system to view the images of the motion accuracy live remotely over the internet. Thus the system provides an innovative approach to theft detection using IOT.

The proposed system uses ultrasonic sensors attached to raspberry pi in order to detect user hand positions. Based on the input received the user may change different beats or add effects in between. We use multiple ultrasonic sensors to allow for a variety of sound effects. Our system uses a speaker in order to play those beats.

We here use a raspberry pi board in order to get fast processing and no break constant music beats for good sound effects. Thus our proposed system puts forward an innovative beat maker and mixer system. Project Description:

  1. Raspberry Pi 3 B: Raspberry Pi is a Microprocessor which has 40 pins with 27 GPIO pins, it has a 1 Giga Bytes of RAM and a SD card slot for the storage or the ROM,it can be used as a mini computer for low computing operations, it has a dual band LAN, faster Ethernet, Bluetooth, it also has USB and HDMI ports for connecting devices. This device can be used as a server which we are doing in this project.
  2. Micro SD card: You will need a minimum of 8 gigabytes SD card for this project, this SD card is used as the ROM of the raspberry pi. Use 32 Gigabyte or 64 Gigabytes of
  3. Display: You can use any kind of display for the project, like monitors, TV or any size display that fits your requirement to configure the Pi.
  4. Power Supply: Raspberry Pi needs a power supply of 5V and 2A Micro USB type.
  5. Mouse and keyboard: You will need this to control, monitor, and to configure the Pi.
  6. Pi Camera: Use the Pi camera to capture still images, live streaming and for video recording.

Project Implementation:

  1. Install the Raspbian OS into the SD card, and boot the Raspberry Pi.
  2. Install Python IDE 3 in Raspberry Pi.
  3. Connect your Display, keypad to the raspberry pi.
  4. Connect the Pi camera and enable the camera option in the settings.
  5. Download the Motion software for the Pi camera and run it in the daemon mode.
  6. Write a shell script to execute the commands in the terminal for surveillance, still image capturing live streaming and recording when there is motion.
  7. Write a Python program with which you can send the captured image when there is a motion, to the IoT gecko platform.
  8. You can see the last motion image on the IoT platform API and get to know when and which part of the image had a motion detected.
Project Brief:The Raspberry Pi when configured and all the required software has been installed then the Pi is ready to be used as a THeft detection syatem.

Software requirements:

  1. Raspbian OS(Debian Linux): Raspbian operating systems are based on Linux, Raspberry pi are also compatible with Windows and IOS but prefer any Linux based OS
  2. Python IDE 3: Python IDE 3 is compiler where you can write and compile python program.

Programing Language:

    Linux (terminal commands)

    Python
